Spokane County boards, commissions seek new members

Spokane County is seeking volunteers for a large number of openings on boards and commissions.

Three positions – one in each of the three commissioner districts – are available on the Fair and Expo Advisory Board and the county Parks Advisory Committee.

The county Shooting Advisory Committee has one opening each in commissioner Districts 1 and 3, and one position on the Planning Commission in District 2.

The Planning Commission and Shooting Advisory Committee both have one at-large vacancy.

Vacancies are to be filled on the County-City Airport Board, Construction Review Board and Health Sciences and Services Authority.

The Historic Landmarks Commission needs to fill positions designated for a historian, a construction specialist and a county representative.

The Housing and Community Development Advisory Committee needs to fill positions designated for Airway Heights, Liberty Lake and an at-large position.

The Mental Health Advisory Board needs to fill three at-large vacancies, plus one vacancy each designated for Grant, Lincoln and Pend Oreille counties.

The Solid Waste Advisory Board has an opening for a waste industry representative.

The Substance Abuse Advisory Board has two vacancies.
