Agreed Boise State and new head football coach Bryan Harsin agreed to terms of a five-year contract valued at $6.5 million. University officials released the term sheet signed by Harsin Wednesday. Harsin, the Broncos’ former offensive coordinator, led Arkansas State to a 7-5 record this year, his first as a head coach.

• U.S. Soccer team coach Jurgen Klinsmann agreed to a four-year contract extension through 2018 Thursday. Hired as coach in July 2011, Klinsmann has helped the U.S. qualify for the World Cup next summer in Brazil. He is gaining the additional title of technical director of the U.S. Soccer Federation.

Announced The National Women’s Soccer League announced the addition of its first expansion team – the Houston Dash. The team will be owned and operated by the Houston Dynamo of MLS and will begin play in the 2014 season at BBVA Compass Stadium. The NWSL has eight other teams and is set to play a 24-game schedule in its second season.

• Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly announced that Kerry Cooks will serve as defensive coordinator for the Fighting Irish through the Pinstripe Bowl after Bob Diaco was named head coach at UConn. Cooks served as co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach the past two seasons.

Resigned Canadian women’s hockey team coach Dan Church resigned. Hockey Canada said assistant coaches Lisa Haley and Danielle Goyette will serve as co-coaches until a new head coach is named. Canada is attempting to win a fourth straight gold medal in Sochi.

Chosen Weber State selected Utah assistant Jay Hill as its new head football coach. He replaces Jody Sears, who was fired after going 4-19 in his two seasons. Hill has been at Utah for the past 13 years, with the last nine spent as special teams coordinator.

• Elon hired Ball State offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Rich Skrosky as its football coach. Skrosky was on Pete Lembo’s staff at Elon from 2006-10 before following him to Ball State. He replaces Jason Swepson, who was fired Nov. 25 after going 10-24 in three seasons.

Revealed The 2014 Major League Soccer All-Star game will be against German club Bayern Munich, the reigning European and Bundesliga champions. The All-Star game will be played in August at Jeld-Wen Field in Portland. The All-Star game has pitted league stars against top-flight foreign clubs for the past 10 years. The game will be a part of Bayern’s first North American tour in a decade.
