Boys roundup: Winger’s 3s help T-wolves rout Falcons

J.J. Winger sunk a school-record 10 3-pointers as part of Lake City’s record-setting night and the Timberwolves routed Hanford 81-48 in a nonleague game Saturday night in Richland, Wash.

Winger finished with 30 points. Lake City (4-0) made 15 3’s in all, best in school history.

LC’s Kyle Guice pulled down nine rebounds and Justin Pratt added 12 points and nine assists.

The Timberwolves outscored the Falcons 43-23 in the second half to put the game away.

Coeur d’Alene 62, Kennewick 53: Devin Kluss scored 19 points and Tony Naccarto added 15 as the Vikings (4-0) defeated the Lions in Coeur d’Alene. Mitchel Mueller led Kennewick with 19 points.

Lewiston 57, Kellogg 37: Vince Hewitt scored 14 points and Kyle Whitlock added 11 as the Bengals (2-3) pulled away after a competitve first quarter and beat the host Wildcats (3-1). Kellogg’s Jessie Lambert led all scorers with 15 points.

Chiawana 60, Post Falls 54: Victor Koval and Aaric Wren each scored 17 points and the Riverhawks beat the Trojans (2-3) in Pasco. Corey Koski led Post Falls with 14 points.

East Valley 49, North Central 42: Mason Tidd scored 11 points and J.T. Phelan grabbed 10 rebounds to guide the Knights (2-1) past the visiting Indians (0-5). North Central shot 29 percent from the field and 0 of 10 from beyond the arc.

Pullman 63, Lakeland 58: A.J. Miles hit five 3-pointers and scored 15 points as the Greyhounds (3-0) rallied in the fourth to beat the visiting Hawks (3-2). Race Martin also scored 15 for Pullman, which outscored Lakeland 21-15 in the final quarter after surrendering the lead in the third. Lakeland’s Derek Bayley led all scorers with 23 points.

Moscow 48, St. Maries 41: Kellen Davis scored 12 points as the Bears (1-4) held off the visiting Lumberjacks’ second-half charge. Adam Gresch added 10 points for Moscow. St. Maries (1-2) was led by Cody Pesselt’s 15 points.

Deer Park 61, Priest River 49: The Stags (3-2) used an 18-4 fourth-quarter run to take control and beat the host Spartans (0-5). Phillip Smith and Avery Miller led the Stags with 18 and 16 points, respectively. Freshman Hunter Hartwig led Priest River with 10 points.

Cashmere 69, Cheney 68: The Bulldogs held off the Blackhawks’ furious fourth-quarter rally and won in Cheney. The Blackhawks (1-3) trailed 59-46 after three quarters, but outscored Cashmere 22-10 in the fourth. Alex Berman’s potential game-winning shot in the final seconds was off the mark. Berman led Cheney with 26 points.

Newport 65, Bonners Ferry 59: The Grizzlies (3-1) followed up a poor second quarter with a dominating third-quarter effort in a win over the host Badgers (0-3). Newport was outscored 21-4 in the second, but a 26-10 third quarter helped the Grizzlies regain control. Jeron Konkright scored 29 points and John Lyon added 20 for Newport.

Brewster 64, Medical Lake 47: Easton Driessen had 18 points, eight rebounds and eight assists as the Bears built an early 10-point advantage and beat the host Cardinals (1-4). Tellas Johnson finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds for Medical Lake.

Riverside 72, Timberlake 52: The Rams (4-0) raced out to a 24-9 first-quarter lead and beat the Tigers (0-5) at Spirit Lake. Dalton Rausch scored 19 points to lead four Riverside players in double figures. Timberlake was led by Keegan Scott’s game-high 20 points.

Davenport 64, Odessa-Harrington 45: Wyatt Evers scored 20 points and Max Mielke added 13 as the Gorillas (3-2) beat the host Titans (2-1). Carsen Webber led Odessa-Harrington with a game-high 21 points.

Wallace 61, Lakeside 40: The Miners (2-0) built a 10-point advantage in the first quarter and went on to beat the Knights (3-2) in Plummer. Brady Brantley led three Wallace players in double figures with 19 points.

Valley Chrisian 65, Cusick 41: Nick Cox scored 15 points as Valley Christian (2-2) eased past host Cusick. Chad Browneagle led Cusick (3-1) with 12 points.

Soap Lake 42, Almira/Coulee-Hartline 29: The Eagles built an 18-point first-half lead and held on to beat the host Warriors (0-5). Dallas Isaak scored 18 points for ACH.

Northeast 2B

St. George’s 64, Colfax 35: Dexter Sienko scored 23 points and the Dragons (6-0, 3-0) used efficient free-throw shooting to beat the host Bulldogs (2-2, 1-1) in a rematch of last year’s State 2B title game. Will Tender added 20 points for St. George’s, which made 21 of 24 from the charity stripe.

Northwest Christian 69, Springdale 29: Ryan Ricks hit nine 3-pointers and finished with 29 points to guide the Crusaders (5-0, 2-0) to an easy victory over the visiting Chargers (0-6, 0-1). Jeremiah Sander added 16 points and 20 rebounds for Northwest Christian.

Northeast 1B North

Curlew 62, Northport 33: Coby Grumbach led all scorers with 18 points and Hunter Beedle added 13 as the Cougars (4-0, 2-0) routed the host Mustangs (0-6, 0-2). Lorinz Martins tallied a team-high 11 points for Northport.

Republic 57, Inchelium 37: The Tigers (2-1, 1-1) surged in the fourth and beat the host Hornets (0-2, 0-1). Taylor Campbell scored 21 points and Aaron Fritts added 15 for Republic.

Selkirk 59, Columbia 19: Dominic Cain scored 16 points and Logan Miller added 10 as the Rangers (1-3, 1-1) opened the game on an 18-0 run and dumped the visiting Lions (2-4, 1-1). Kurtis McDowell scored 15 of Columbia’s 19 points.

Southeast 1B

LaCrosse-Washtucna 71, Liberty Christian 53: Joe Guske scored 26 points and Darcy Stamper added 25 as the Tigercats (2-0, 2-0) defeated the host Patriots (1-1, 1-1). Isaiah Ojeda paced Liberty Christian with 20 points.

Colton 52, Touchet 47: Brady Chadwick and Carter Dahmen scored 10 points apiece to lead the Wildcats (1-0, 1-0) past the visiting Indians (0-1, 0-1). Colter McKeown led Touchet with 10 points.

Garfield-Palouse 75, St. John-Endicott 24: Matthew Holbrook led three players in double figures with 14 points as the Vikings (4-0, 2-0) overwhelmed the host Eagles (0-3, 0-2). Tyler Thurman scored 13 points for Garfield-Palouse.
