Obituary: Moeckel, Willfred L. “Bill”

Age 97

MOECKEL, Wilfred L. “Bill” (Age 97) Passed away on November 29, 2013, in Spokane, WA.

Bill was born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, on July 18, 1916 to Louis and Annie Moeckel.

He is survived by Pauline, his wife of 69 years who resides at Riverview Terrace; and daughter and son-in-law, Audrey and Steve Frisch, Spokane, WA; daughter Paula Johnson passed away in 2006; he is also survived by brother-in-law, Clair J. Reiha; and a niece and nephew.

Bill worked as a skilled machinist in the Army Air Corps in Saipan during World War II.

He continued that trade for 35 years at General Machinery Company in Spokane.

He was known as a true craftsman and served as a role model to others for quality work.

Bill was devoted to his family and was a wonderful husband and father.

After retiring, Bill and Pauline enjoyed many years traveling, golfing, and wintering in Arizona.

Bill could never believe how lucky he was to live such a long, full life.

A family graveside service will be held at a later date.
