Obituary: Reid, Ronald Francis

Age 59

REID, Ronald Francis (Age 58) Dad was born on December 13, 1954 and passed away peacefully on December 8, 2013 at his home in Spokane.

Papa Reid grew up on the north side of Spokane.

He attended Field Elementary, Salk Middle School, and North Central High School.

He married Gail Green and they had a son Keven.

Ron worked at Kaiser in Mead, he dry walled in Japan and Portland, Ore, later settling in Chattaroy where he took on construction and remodeling jobs.

He was a fixture at his favorite hangout, the Chattaroy Rental Shop.

His dog Shelby accompanied him everywhere he went.

He loved hanging out with his son and grandkids; fishing, watching football, and eating pizza.

He always looked forward to family gatherings.

He is survived by his son Keven (Deann) Reid of Medical Lake; three grandchildren, Riley, Karter, and Kolten; his sister Terrie Austin of Spokane; brother Tim (Debbie) Reid of Spokane; nieces Kelli (Shane) Sanchez and Kendra (Maurio) Juarez; nephews K.C.

(Crystal) Austin and T.J. Reid; ten great-nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; as well as the entire extended Mellgren family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Francis E. and Norma Jean Reid, as well as his brother-in-law Kenneth C. Austin.

A special thanks to Horizon Hospice; especially to Dr. Heffernan, Geoff, Jennifer, and Kelli for their great care and compassion for Dad and all of us during the last year.

A memorial service will be held on December, 20, 2013 at 5:30 PM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 9706 N. Division, Spokane, WA with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating.

Pizza, Dad’s favorite, will follow the service.
