Here are the answers to this week’s That’s News to You:

1. B. A football partygoer told friends he’d found it in a can he was about to recycle while cleaning an apartment. Someone who heard the story looked into the ring’s history and persuaded him to turn over the ring, which belonged to former Seattle University basketball star Thornton Humphries, to the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

2. C. Boeing said 800-1,200 research jobs in Washington and 200-300 in California will move to Alabama, Missouri and South Carolina.

3. C. The district will pay for its high schoolers to take the PSAT and SAT exams, using the results to measure whether students are on par with expectations when they go to college.

4. D. Satellites recorded the temperature in East Antarctica at minus 135.8 degrees Fahrenheit. The previous record low was minus 128.6 degrees.

5. B. The 64-yard field goal beat the 63-yard record held by four other NFL kickers. Two of those were also kicked in Denver.
