Washington State defeated at Dayton

Lia Galdeira scored a game-high 29 points but Washington State dropped an 87-76 decision on Sunday to the Dayton Flyers (3-4) in Ohio.

The Flyers led 41-26 at halftime and had their biggest lead, 18, early in the second half.

The Cougars used 3-pointers by Dawnyelle Awa and Galdeira to cut the margin to nine with 14:05 left. Dayton rebuilt the lead to 13 before Tia Presley scored five points off a pair of steals and Galdeira scored to make it a six-point game at 11:24.

The Flyers answered with six straight points and the Cougars wouldn’t get closer than nine thereafter.

Presley added 17 points for the Cougars (5-5), who scored 32 points off 25 Flyers turnovers but were smothered on the boards 54-31.

Washington 83, Montana State 60: Kelsey Plum scored 19 points to lead the Huskies over the Bobcats (4-4) in Seattle.

Jazmine Davis added 17 points, Katie Collier 13 and Mercedes Wetmore 10 for the Huskies (4-3). Talia Walton grabbed 11 rebounds and Aminah Williams 10 for UW.
