First Aid/CPR Classes - Adult, child and infant first aid/CPR classes, new student and refresher courses, are available through the Safety Center, 1317 W. Free Assistance from a Statewide Health Insurance Benefit Advisor - A representative from Statewide Health Insurance Benefit Advisor visits a number of Whitman County Library branch locations each month assisting residents with their Medicare and insurance questions. SHIBA volunteers provide information and counseling to individuals about health insurance and health care access, focusing on Medicare issues along with other health insurance related issues. Marie Fowler will be at the St. John Library, 1 E. Front St., St. John, Wash., the second Monday of each month, 11 a.m.-noon; the Endicott Library, 324 E. Health for All - This community-based healthcare access project links uninsured individuals and families in Eastern Washington with state health insurance programs and assists those who do not qualify for state-sponsored coverage by linking them with appropriate community resources. Hearing Loss Association – Spokane Chapter - Group provides support, education, advocacy, and camaraderie to people with a hearing loss. Each meeting features a speaker system, real-time captioning, and a room loop to make easy communication possible for all present.
