Obituary: Johnson, Dolores S. (Fatur)

Age 89

JOHNSON, Dolores S. (Fatur) (Age 89) Passed away Sunday, December 15th at her home in Spokane Valley, WA.

She was born April 13, 1924 in Great Falls, MT and later adopted by James W. and Christina (Kienlen) Keck.

She attended schools in Montana and graduated from Laurel High School in Laurel, MT in 1941.

Dolores married Walter Fatur in Montana in 1942.

Following his service during World War II, the couple moved to the Spokane area in 1945.

Walt worked as a manager at Burgan’s Furniture.

The couple divorced in 1969.

Dolores married Donald M. ‘Greg’ Johnson Jr. on May 20, 1972 in Coeur d’Alene, ID and the couple made their home in Garfield, WA.

Greg owned and operated the State National Bank of Garfield.

Following his retirement in 1994, the couple moved to Badger Lake.

They moved to Spokane in 2001 and to Spokane Valley in June of 2007.

The couple had wintered in Yuma, AZ for 20 years.

Greg died in 2009.

She was a past member and president of the St. John Vianney Catholic Church Altar Society and a current member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church Women at the Well Group.

Dolores enjoyed gardening, china painting, ceramics and all crafts.

Survivors include children, William Fatur (Jackie) of Spokane Valley, WA, Marie Mitchell (Dan) of Spokane Valley, WA, honorary son, Skip Wing (Mardi) of Portland, OR; stepchildren, Janice Latta (Doug) of Anacortes, WA, Lucinda Carroll (Bill) of Wenatchee, WA, Donald M. Johnson III (Tammy) of Nassau TX; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Greg, a son, James Fatur and an infant daughter, Diane Fatur.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 304 S. Adams Road, Spokane Valley, WA.

Father Pat Kerst will officiate at the service.

A private inurnment service will be held at the Garfield Cemetery in Garfield, WA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorial gifts may be given to the Hospice of Spokane, PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99210 or Morning Star Boys Ranch, PO Box 8087, Spokane, WA 99203 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
