Obituary: Welch, Gary L.

Age 75

WELCH, Gary L. (Age 75) Passed away December 11, 2013 at Sacred Heart hospital after his cour- ageous battle with liver and bone cancer.

He was born February 16, 1938 to Milford and Thelma Welch in Elk River, Idaho.

He resided in Moscow, Idaho until he began his 20 year military career.

He received Bronze Star medals and other achievements as a sharp shooter for his overseas and Vietnam services in the army.

Gary had a passion for fishing and enjoyed meeting with his friends at the Eagles Club, where he was a frequent member for over 20 years.

He is survived by his wife Kathryn Welch of 56 years; two daughters, Polly Paollozzi and Ranita Adams; two sons, Richard Welch and Rowdy Welch; and six grandchildren, Diana Welch, Jennifer Adams, Jacob Adams, Josh Adams, Taylor Welch, and Tiffany Locking; and three great-grandchildren, Rylen Stam Adams, Keegan and Kera Locking.

Gary is also survived by two sisters, Shirley Stirnot and Mary Allen; and a brother Richard Welch.

Gary was a compassionate and loving man, and he will be missed by all who loved him and knew him.

A memorial service held by the military honors guard will take place on December 23rd at 10:30 a.m. at the State Veterans Cemetery located at 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA.
