Firefighters spread holiday cheer at area hospitals

By The Spokesman-Review

Firefighters from Spokane County Fire District 8 and Station 98 in Spokane County Fire District 9 brought a little holiday cheer to families and children at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Spokane on Monday, delivering presents and holiday stockings. They had already taken Christmas presents to the Hutton Settlement and planned to deliver more to the Shriners Hospital for Children today.

The gift-giving began last year when firefighters volunteering at Ronald McDonald House noticed that holidays went uncelebrated, said firefighter Mike Miner.
