Four Corners basketball: Washington State

Coming up: Saturday vs. Mississippi Valley State, 5 p.m. (Pac-12 Networks)

Outlook: Following a three-game winning streak, the Cougars backslid last week in a 64-51 home loss to UTEP. With just one more contest before the start of Pac-12 play, it is imperative that WSU have a good showing on Saturday. In the loss to UTEP, the Cougars shot just 26 percent on 3-point field goals (7 of 27) and it was the fifth time the team has shot 30 percent or worse from behind the arc while attempting at least 18 shots. Coach Ken Bone has said that he’s reluctant to mess with his team’s psyche by telling them to shoot less, so the Cougars will need to justify his confidence by knocking down some 3s.
