COMING UP: Saturday vs. Montana, 1 p.m.
OUTLOOK: Round 1 in Missoula went to the Griz. Now the Vandals get a chance to even the series with Montana, a longtime rival and future Big Sky Conference opponent, at Cowan Spectrum. The Griz (4-4) handled Idaho by 11 points on Dec. 11, their first of three straight wins after starting 1-4. Idaho coach Don Verlin said the key against Montana is to better contain their top perimeter threats – Kareem Jamar, Keron Deshields and Jordan Gregory. All three average double-digit points, led by Jamar’s 18.9 per game. The Vandals have struggled with rebounding, but not as much as the Griz. Montana entered the week last in the nation in rebounds per game.
