Knight, Farmer fuel NWC victory

Chanel Knight scored 16 points and Treasure Farmer added 15 as Northwest Christian edged Freeman 63-55 Friday at the Freeman tournament.

Knight and Farmer both hit 3-pointers late in the fourth to help the Crusaders pull away for good.

Katie Vold scored a game-high 20 points for Freeman (2-2).

Northwest Christian, which lost to Reardan in last year’s State 2B title game, improved to 9-0.

Pullman 63, St. George’s 25: Savannah Paul scored 10 points and the Greyhounds (2-2) cruised past the Dragons (3-6) at the Freeman tournament. Pullman outscored St. George’s 41-11 after halftime.

Hoover (Ohio) 62, Coeur d’Alene 56: Julie Worley hit five free throws late in the game to help Hoover edge Coeur d’Alene (9-2) at the Diamond State Classic in Wilmington, Del. Worley finished with 19 points. Coeur d’Alene outscored Hoover 22-11 in the third, but Hoover rallied in the fourth. Sydney Williams scored 20 for Coeur d’Alene.

Lake City 62, Foster 24: Whitney Meier scored 13 points and Camryn Wendlandt added 12 as the Timberwolves (8-3) overwhelmed the Bulldogs in Kirkland, Wash., at the Juanita tournament.

Post Falls 59, Mountain View 40: The Trojans (7-6) used a strong defensive effort to get past Mountain View to reach the title game of the Archbishop Murphy tournament in Everett. Shayna Allert scored 15 points for Post Falls, which forced 32 turnovers.

Chiawana 71, Central Valley 60: Delaney Hodgins and Braydey Hodgins combined for 45 points as the Riverhawks used a dominating first-quarter run to get past the Bears (4-2) in Pasco. Madison Hovren scored 21 points for Central Valley, which couldn’t recover after falling behind 26-9 in the first quarter.

Richland 50, University 45: Kennedy Corrigan and Sarah McCormic combined for 33 points and the Bombers took control late in a win over the host Titans (3-4). Ashley Woods, Kylie Collins and Jessica Shill scored eight points apiece for University.

West Valley 55, Timberlake 40: Natalie Noble scored 18 points and Erin Higbie added 10 as the Eagles (5-2) topped the Tigers (5-5) at the West Valley tournament. Jessica Norlander scored 12 points for Timberlake – 10 of which came in the second half. Timberlake plays Cheney today and West Valley takes on Bonners Ferry.

Colfax 60, Clarkston 46: Nicole Sheer scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as the Bulldogs (6-1) topped the Bantams (2-4) at the Avista Tournament at Lewis-Clark State College in Lewiston. Amara Huber added 10 points and four steals for Colfax. The Bulldogs will play Walla Walla today and Clarkston will play Lewiston.

Almira/Coulee-Hartline 49, Reardan 45: Reinnee Rockett erupted for 27 points and the Warriors (3-3) charged from behind to beat the Indians (1-7) at the Reardan tournament. ACH trailed by five at the half, but outscored Reardan 29-20 in the second half. Maddie Johnson tallied a team-high 18 points for the Indians. ACH plays Chewelah today for the tourney title.

Chewelah 53, Wellpinit 33: Sydnie Katzer scored 16 points and grabbed 15 rebounds as the Cougars (3-5) surged in the second half and beat the Redskins (3-4) at the Reardan tournament. Chewelah outscored Wellpinit 30-13 after halftime following a competitive first half.

Wilbur-Creston 63, Rosalia 39: Kaelee Reed scored 18 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as the Wildcats (8-0) surged in the second half and routed the Spartans (3-2) at the Davenport tournament. Emily Starzman added 13 points for Wilbur-Creston, which outscored Rosalia 36-22 after halftime. Mackenzie Reddish tallied a team-high 15 points for the Spartans. Wilbur-Creston plays Odessa-Harrington today for the tourney title.

Dayton 46, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 16: Sydney Andrews scored 13 points as the Bulldogs routed the Tigercats (1-4) at the Dayton tournament.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 38, St. John-Endicott 32: Jenna Bennett scored 13 points and Mallory Kessler added eight as the Broncos (3-3) pulled away in the second half and beat the Eagles (4-2) in St. John. Gracie Dickerson scored 13 points for SJE.
