Architecture

Bernardo|Wills Architects has hired Pam Kendrick and Gregg Soares as building information modeling/computer-aided design technicians. Kendrick is a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation Forum, American Society of Civil Engineers and Spokane Preservation Advocates. She is working on the Chief Joseph Village Apartments Renovation/Addition project at Washington State University. Soares is working on the Nelson Service Center for the city of Spokane. He previously was an engineering technician for Mine Ventilation Services Inc. in Clovis, Calif.

Culinary

Brystol Myers has been named general manager of the Steelhead Bar and Grille. Myers has nearly 30 years experience in the restaurant industry.

Education

Beth Thew has been named to a five-year term on the Community Colleges of Spokane’s board of trustees. Thew is secretary-treasurer for the Spokane Regional Labor Council. She is a member and past vice chair of the Washington State Workforce Training and Education Coordinating Board and a commissioner with the Washington State Economic Development Commission. She also serves on the Community Colleges of Spokane’s Worker Retraining Advisory Committee, Spokane Area Workforce Development Council, and the board of directors for United Way of Spokane County.

Joanie Christian, Martin Schiavenato and Kyle Lundberg have joined the Washington State University College of Nursing. Christian is the clinical placement coordinator. Previously, she was community health director at Northeast Tri-County Health District in Colville. Schiavenato is an associate professor and the Providence Scholar in Residence. He was previously an associate professor at the University of Miami School of Nursing and Health Studies. Lundberg is the simulation technician at the Program of Excellence in Clinical Performance and Simulation program. Previously, he was medical information systems manager at Fairchild Air Force Base.

Finance

Tim Devlin has joined the Spokane office of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC. Devlin has 20 years of experience as a financial adviser and has earned the Chartered Retirement Plan Counselor designation. He has been with Wells Fargo since 2009.

Miscellaneous

URS Corp. has named Tom Reese as Spokane operations manager. Reese has more than 20 years of experience in the private and public sectors. Previously, he was director of business development for Lydig Construction. He has also served as the economic development adviser in the Office of the Mayor and as an urban designer with the city of Spokane Planning Department. Reese serves on Greater Spokane Incorporated’s Public Policy Council, WSU Spokane President’s Advisory Council, and Friends of the Falls Board.

Nonprofit

Kyle West has been hired as workforce program manager for the Spokane Area Workforce Development Council. Previously, West was development manager at Mobius Spokane and he has extensive experience in program development, grant writing and community relations.

Performing arts

The Spokane School of Performing Arts announced that Christan Raxter has completed coursework and certification to be an instructor for the Harmony Road Music program.

Real estate

April Sherwood has joined Keller Williams Realty Spokane. Previously, Sherwood was a child care services specialist with the Spokane Tribe of Indians.
