Obituary: Knoll, Eugene W. “Gene”

KNOLL, Eugene W. “Gene” Beloved family man and friend to all went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2013 in Spokane.

He was born January 20, 1927 in Palouse, WA the son of Leo and Carolyn Knoll.

Gene graduated from Central Valley High School in 1945 and attended Gonzaga University after being honorably discharged from the United States Coast Guard.

Gene is survived by his loving wife of 64 years Mary Ellen Knoll of Spokane; children Tom (Cindy) Knoll of Haden, ID, David (Barbara) Knoll of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, Annette Knoll of Spokane, Dan (Belinda) Knoll of Colbert, WA and daughter-in-law Nancy Knoll of Coeur d’ Alene, ID; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Michael Knoll; his grandson Jason Knoll; and great-grandson Drake Gamache.

Visitation will be Friday, January 3 from 12noon-5pm and will be conducted at Holy Cross Funeral Center Chapel, 7200 N. Wall St. Funeral Mass will be Saturday, January 4, 2013 at 1pm and will be celebrated at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 5021 N. Nelson, Spokane, with committal to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Patrick Catholic Parish (school re-opening fund).
