Moos keys Indians’ comeback over NWC

Kelsey Moos scored 36 points and pulled down 16 rebounds as Reardan overcame a nine-point halftime deficit and beat Northwest Christian 65-49 in the District 7 2B title game Saturday at Mead High School.

The Indians came alive in the second half, outscoring the Crusaders 40-15. Katy Burge added 13 points and 11 rebounds and Chantel Heath chipped in 11 points for Reardan.

The win gave the Indians (22-1) the top seed to the regional tournament. Northwest Christian (17-5) is No. 2.

Treasure Farmer scored 15 points and Hannah Dietzen added 11 for the Crusaders.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague 40, St. George’s 39: Dalyn Killian and Brooke Pichette scored 12 points apiece and the Broncos (9-14) claimed a berth to subregionals with a narrow win over the Dragons (10-13) at Mt. Spokane High School.

Lind-Ritzville/Sprague went on a 13-1 third-quarter run to erase a seven-point halftime deficit.

Alex Wert tallied a game-high 17 points for St. George’s.

Andra Moye hit a 3-pointer with 20 seconds left to bring the Dragons within a point, but Wert’s shot at the buzzer was off the mark. The Broncos will play Colfax on Monday at Mt. Spokane. St. George’s will play Springdale in a loser-out game on Monday, also at Mt. Spokane.

Colfax 52, Springdale 27: Taylor Larsen scored 14 points and Nicole Sheer added 11 as the Bulldogs (19-4) built a comfortable first-half lead and cruised past the Chargers (11-12) at Mt. Spokane.

Colfax outscored Springdale 14-6 in the first quarter and led 28-14 at halftime. Bailey Brown and Eilish Smith scored six points apiece for Springdale.

Great Northern

Pullman 52, Colville 51: Emily Drake scored 21 points and Dakota Wickard added 13 as the Greyhounds (14-5, 10-1) held on late and beat the visiting Indians (9-10, 5-6). Colville rallied in the fourth, outscoring Pullman 19-11. The Indians were led by Tyra Brons’ 14 points.

Northeast A

Kettle Falls 55, Chewelah 52: Randi Goodnight had 13 points and eight rebounds and Serena Pounds added 10 points and 10 boards as the Bulldogs (8-13, 3-10) rallied in the fourth quarter and beat the visiting Cougars (6-15, 2-11). Kourtney Keenan had 13 points and Emily Owens added nine points and 10 rebounds for Kettle Falls, which outscored Chewelah 14-8 in the final quarter.

The Cougars were led by Mekaela Hopkins and Katelyn Garner, who combined for 21 points.

Southeast 1B

Touchet 57, Tekoa-Oakesdale 46: Cierra Jo McKeown scored a game-high 28 points to guide the Indians (11-5, 11-5) past the visiting Nighthawks (16-4, 12-4).

Alexandria Overton scored 19 points and Cassandra Mendoza added 13 for Tekoa-Oakesdale.

Colton 76, LaCrosse-Washtucna/Kahlotus 11: The Wildcats (18-1, 15-0) outscored the host Tigercats (0-20, 0-16) 50-6 in the first quarter and eased to the win.

Nonleague

Clark Fork 48, Wallace 33: Mariah Miller scored 12 of her team-high 13 points in the fourth quarter and the Wampus Cats (5-11, 2-3) beat the visiting Miners (9-9, 4-1). Tess Vogel and Annie Wurm each added nine points and nine rebounds for Clark Fork. Wallace was led by Jordan Browning’s game-high 18 points.
