Obituary: Primmer, George Franklin “Frank”

PRIMMER, George Franklin “Frank” October 18, 1940 - January 24, 2013 Frank passed away on January 24, 2013 at West Palm Beach, Florida V.A.

Hospital, after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Preceded in death by his parents Marguerite and Kelley Primmer of Valleyford, WA.

Frank is survived by his wife Carol; son Randy Primmer and wife Tina, Longwood, FL; son Mark Primmer , Longwood, FL; granddaughter Rainey Primmer, Fort Meyers, FL; brother Dennis Primmer and wife Virginia, Mims, FL; brother Dan Primmer and wife Donna, Greenacres, WA; brother Fred Primmer and wife Deona, Mica, WA; sister Helen (Primmer) Laird and husband Del, Greenacres, WA and numerous nieces and nephews in Washington and Florida.

Frank was born at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane, WA on October 18, 1940.

He was raised in Valleyford, WA and attended Valleyford Elementary, Lindberg High School and Freeman High School where he graduated in 1958.

Frank entered the Army Reserve in 1957 and completed his basic training at Fort Ord, CA.

Frank entered the Army in 1963 and served at Fort Leonard Wood, MO.

He graduated from Army Officers Candidate School at Fort Benning, GA, earning the rank of 2nd Lieutenant in 1965.

He served two tours in Vietnam where he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant in Pleiku, Vietnam in 1966 and received the Distinguished Service Cross and the Purple Heart and various other service awards.

After his discharge from the military, Frank settled in Belle Glade, FL where he was an active member of the community involved with the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

Frank’s interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, VA at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations on his behalf to the Disabled American Vets.
