Obituary: Traphagen-Cary, Joni R.

TRAPHAGEN-CARY, Joni R. On January 31, 2013 Joni went to be with God in Heaven.

She was born February 14, 1967 at Holy Family Hospital in Spokane.

She spent her whole life in the Spokane area where she attended St. Patrick’s Catholic School, Shaw Middle School, and Rogers High School.

In 1993 she went to work for Premera Blue Cross and was employed there until her diagnosis of cancer in March of 2012.

Joni is survived by the two loves of her life, her sons, Hunter Cary and Braden Cary at home, her mother, Myrna Traphagen of Spokane, Her sister Kelly Traphagen of Liberty Lake, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her father Milton Traphagen of Spokane, grandparents Louis and Kathleen Rehovsky of Oaks, ND, Robert Traphagen of Oaks, ND and Myrtle Traphagen of Prosser, WA.

Joni had many wonderful friends with whom she shared her spirit of Love and Caring.

The family would like to thank Her Oncologist, Dr. Lund, Her surgeon Dr. Hirschauer, and the staff of Sacred Heart Medical Center, Rockwood Cancer Center, St. Luke’s Rehabilitation, Regency Care and Hospice of Spokane.

Services will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Spokane on Thursday, February, 7th, 2013 at 10:00 AM followed by interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Hospice of Spokane, or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International.

Reception will be at Holy Names Hall (basement of St. Patrick’s School) after Interment.
