She lived the majority of her life in Ritzville, moving to the Good Samaritan Village in Spokane in 2007 to be nearer to her family.

Dorothy loved music and playing the piano, playing rummy, researching family heritage, reading the Bible, and the company of family and friends.

She married Victor Rogel on September 9, 1939, sharing 34 wonderful years of marriage.

She is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Bill) DeMaine; grandchildren, Alana (Robert) Kienel, Jessica DeMaine; step-grandchildren, Carla Gilbertz, Lori Rayburn, Bill DeMaine III, Timothy DeMaine, Amy Melchisedeck, and Betsy Bradley; great-grandchildren, Serena and Evan Kienel, Wyatt Mann and Ryan Keil.

She is also survived by 17 stepgreat-grandchildren and 11 stepgreat-great-grandchildren, nieces, great-nieces and nephews and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters, husband Victor, and infant son, William George.

A memorial service and celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held February 8, 2013 at the Zion-Philadelphia Church in Ritzville, WA, at 2:00PM.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 7, 2013 from 12 Noon to 5 PM, and Friday, February 8, 2013 from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the DANEKAS FUNERAL HOME, RITZVILLE, WA.

The family requests any memorial contributions may be made to the Spokane Valley Good Samaritan, 18121 E 8th Ave. Spokane Valley, WA 99016 or the Zion-Philadelphia Church in Ritzville, WA 99169.
