Obituary: Bauer, James Francis

BAUER, James Francis How do you say goodbye to a man who has led his family with grace, dignity and humor for so many years?

It is impossible.

To his family and friends his words of wisdom and quick wit will live on through them.

So it will never be goodbye, simply see you soon.

He left behind his devoted wife of 56 years, Frances Bauer, four daughters, Joy Tweedy (husband Ron), Tammy Bertsch, Jama Latham (husband Kelly) and Deanette Christopherson (husband Tim), 20 grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Jim was an outstanding athlete from Wapato High School, who held many records in both football and basketball.

He went on to play in college at both WSU and EWU where he continued his winning ways.

He earned a degree in teaching and he taught at Brewster High School before moving to Spokane.

He taught for almost 30 years in the Mead School District and coached both football and basketball.

He was devoted to his students and athletes and always felt it was an honor to be a part of their lives.

God saw you getting tired, A cure was not meant to be.

So he put His arms around you, And whispered, “Come with Me.”

With tearful eyes we watched you, As we saw you pass away.

Although we love you deeply, We could not make you stay Your golden heart stopped, Hard working hands at rest, God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Visitation at Hennessy Smith Funeral Home from Noon-5 p.m. Thursday, February 7, 2013 and the Rosary at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary at 3624 W. Indian Trail Rd at 7 p.m.

The Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. with celebration of life following at Assumption.

Interment will be Saturday, February 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery.
