Obituary: Burton, Claire

BURTON, Claire Claire Burton, 85 years old, beloved wife of Kenneth Burton, died quietly at her Hayden home on Saturday February 2, 2013.

Claire was born to Emelia and William St. Charles on September 21, 1927 in New Bedford, Massachusetts.

She was the youngest of their eight children.

She met Ken while he was in the Navy.

They married on January 10, 1946.

Son, Wayne was born in 1947 and daughter, Patricia was born in 1957.

Married for 67 years, Ken and Claire have lived in West Virginia, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Florida before moving to Idaho 12 years ago.

During her lifetime, Claire enjoyed taking care of her family and home and volunteering to help others.

While living in Spirit Lake, she enjoyed volunteering at the Rathdrum Food Bank.

With Ken and their daughter Pat, she enjoyed attending mass at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Coeur d’Alene.

Many of her long-time friends from back East have remarked on how much she enjoyed living here with her family close by.

She is survived by her husband, Ken; her daughter, Patricia; her son, Wayne and his wife, Deb; her granddaughter, Dawn and her husband, Dale; and their children, Patrick and Samantha all who reside in Hayden; her grandson, Wayne and his wife, Kelly; and their son, Reilly of Houston, Texas.

A memorial service will be held to honor Claire’s life 10:00 A.M. Saturday February 9th at the YATES FUNERAL HOME HAYDEN CHAPEL located at 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden.
