Obituary: Milliken, Janice M.

Age 91

MILLIKEN, Janice M. On February 1st, 2013 the Angels came and took Janice home to be with her Lord and Savior.

She was born on July 24, 1921 in Elkhorn, ND to Ole and Inga Vasend.

She moved from Sisseton, SD to Spokane in 1937 where she later graduated from Lewis & Clark High School.

She married her husband, Bill, in May of 1941.

They moved to Seattle where they both worked for Boeing during World War II.

After the war they relocated to Spokane where they raised their two sons.

She retired from the Bon Marche as a drapery consultant in 1974.

She loved reading, sewing, going to church, camping and being with her family most of all.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, in 1999; brothers, Rubin and Thore Vasend; one sister, Borghild Olsen; and half-sisters, Myrtle and Cora.

She leaves behind her two sons, Bill (Sandy) Milliken and Paul (Sue) Milliken; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren whom she loved very much.

She was a prayer warrior for the whole family and will be greatly missed.

Being a long-time resident of the Spokane Valley, she had most recently resided at Guardian Angel Homes in Liberty Lake, where she received the best of care.

Visitation will be held from 4-8pm on Friday, February 8, 2013 at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA.

A Funeral Service will take place at 10am on Saturday, February 9, 2013 at the same location.
