Age 66
KURATH, Kay Serene (Age 66) Born on December 29, 1946, was welcomed into Heaven on February 4, 2013 after a brief illness. Kay was born in Norwalk, CT to Louis and Norma Serene. She grew up on the East Coast. She married Raymond Rupprecht and relocated to Spokane, Washington where she raised two daughters. She had a special love of children, and was able to be a full time home maker, passionate in sewing and baking, and active in her daughters’ school activities. KURATH, Kay Serene (Age 66) Born on December 29, 1946, was welcomed into Heaven on February 4, 2013 after a brief illness. Kay was born in Norwalk, CT to Louis and Norma Serene. She grew up on the East Coast. She married Raymond Rupprecht and relocated to Spokane, Washington where she raised two daughters. She had a special love of children, and was able to be a full time home maker, passionate in sewing and baking, and active in her daughters’ school activities. She later went back to school and earned a Master’s Degree at Eastern Washington University and went to work there as the career counselor for eight years. She married Edward Kurath on March 20, 1999 and relocated from Spokane WA to Post Falls ID. After retiring from EWU, she enjoyed gardening, organic cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren. Kay is survived by her husband Edward Kurath, her daughters Heather Rupprecht Gross (Rob) of Spokane Valley, WA, and Michelle Rupprecht Dahl, of Seattle, WA, stepchildren John Kurath (Stacey) of Boulder, CO and Wendy Kurath Gonzales of Bellevue, OH, and her 10 adoring grandchildren, Chris, Ryan, Taylor, Hannah, Sarah, Tyler, Colby, Madelyn, Morgan, and Lacey. She is also survived by a half-brother Tom Serene (Clyone) and a half-sister Carol (David). Kay’s generous heart and kindness to everyone she met will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 10, at 2:30 pm at Valley Assembly, 15618 E. Broadway, Spokane Valley, WA. In lieu of flowers, you are invited to make a donation to Hospice of North Idaho, who were so outstanding in helping us to navigate through the difficult time this last month (mail to 9493 N.
