Police arrest man on suspicion of luring

The Spokane Police Department has arrested Jose Galvan, 32, on suspicion of stopping females and demanding they get into his vehicle. Police said they received several calls Thursday around 7:30 a.m. about a man driving a black sedan and approaching females in the area of the 1100 block of west Dalton. One caller provided a partial license plate number and a description of the suspect. Officers soon stopped Galvan, but were unable to get in touch with the original witness to get a positive ID. The description provided wasn’t close enough to detain Galvan. An hour later, a 14-year-old victim called and reported a similar male driving a similar car in the 3400 block of north Crestline who asked the victim several times to get into his vehicle. She provided a full plate number and Galvan was stopped again. This time the victim was able to positively identify Galvan as the suspect, according to police. Galvan was booked into Spokane County Jail for luring. Police believe there may be more victims or witnesses with information. If so, call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
