Born on June 15, 1921 in Bordeaux, France, she immigrated to the United States on September 14, 1936, and became a U.S. Citizen in 1943.
Initially, Mrs. Cleveland resided in Greenacres, Washington and St. Maries, Idaho.
In 1942, she met the love of her life, Terry C. Cleveland, at Fort George Wright in Spokane.
She worked as a cosmetologist from the early 1940s until forced to retire for health reasons in 2010, at the age of 89.
She owned and operated the Five Mile Beauty Salon (Spokane) from 1962 until September 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marie (Sanguinet) Simon and Elie Simon, and her beloved husband, Lt. Col. Terry C. Cleveland (USAF).
She is survived by her two sons and their spouses Charles A. Cleveland (Joyce J. McCown), Terry S. Cleveland (Nan Cleveland); and three grandchildren, Charlena, Alexander, and James MacArthur.
The family wishes to thank the compassionate and dignified care Reneé received from the entire staff at Riverview Care Center.
The funeral will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday, February 11, 2013 at The Chapel of Three Companions, campus of Gonzaga Prep, 1224 East Euclid, Spokane.
A private burial is planned.
