Stop minority rule

Since Republicans/conservatives have discovered they cannot get majority support for many of their goals, they are systematically trying to install minority rule at all levels of government using supermajorities.

Proposition 2 (the five-of-seven vote majority) is just another example of this. The United States government system was built on majority votes by majority vote-elected politicians elected to act in our (citizens) behalf. This is another attempt to dismantle this history.

When they get this implemented for taxes, they will then try to do the same thing for other legislation for the city.

The library district is long overdue. Libraries are as necessary as police, fire and utilities in making a place fit to live.

The ombudsman item would put us one step closer to having a responsible police force.
