BRAKEFIELD, John R. “Dick” (Age 100) Passed away February 7, 2013 in Spokane, WA. He was born August 11, 1912 to John and Esther Brakefield in Willard, Montana. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Helen Brakefield of Colbert, WA: daughter, Nancy Fifer (Ralph) of Spokane, WA; sons, John Brakefield (Karen) of Missoula, MT, David Brakefield (Patty) of Colbert, WA, and Kenneth Brakefield (Sue) of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren, Keith Fifer, Jill Meyer, Robin Kaminski, Holly Lanker, and Aaron Brakefield; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Esther Farrell of Gig Harbor, WA; and brothers-in-law Orval and Herbert Dean. He was preceded by his parents, one brother, five sisters and grandson Russell. A Visitation will be held Monday, February 11, 2013 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. Interment on Tuesday, February 12 at 11:00am, Fairmount Memorial Park, Spokane, WA. A Memorial Service will follow Tuesday, 1:00pm February 12, 2013 at the Colbert Chapel, 4922 E. Bernhill Rd, Colbert, WA 99005. In lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to the Colbert Chapel.
