Obituary: Fichtenberg, Eleanor V. (Wikholm)

Age 88

FICHTENBERG, Eleanor V. (Wikholm) Our Beloved Mother, Grandma, Great-Grandma and Friend went home to her Lord and Savior on February 1, 2013.

She was born December 14, 1924 in Spokane, WA to Lars Einar and Mildred Olava Wikholm (Olson).

She was baptized and confirmed at Salem Lutheran Church.

She graduated from North Central High School in 1943.

Eleanor was a Property/Casualty Insurance Agent for many years.

After retirement she was Coordinator of Volunteers for Omega Outreach Ministries for 10 years.

Eleanor was a member of the Lutheran Bible Translators, offering her an opportunity to travel to Ecuador for a short-term mission trip, delivering bibles written in the Quisha language, a highlight of her life.

She was a member of the World Mission Prayer League, Warren G. Magnuson Club and Precinct Committee Officer #6133, and Messiah Lutheran Church and Rachel Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wesley J. Fichtenberg, her parents Lars Einar and Mildred O. Wikholm, brother Rudy Wikholm, and sister Eina Paro (Sundsvall, Sweden).

She is survived by her daughters Dana Parker (Jerry), Medical Lake, WA and Leslie Warner (Jeff), Spokane, WA; grandsons: Craig Cooley (Kari), Issaquah, WA, Brian Cooley (Deborah), Southington, CT, Branson Warner, Spokane, WA, John Parker (Janet), Spokane Valley, WA, and Robb Parker (Karin), Renton, WA; great-grandchildren: Madison and Brandon Cooley (Issaquah, WA), Hannah and Taylor Cooley (Southington, CT), and Anna and Benjamin Parker (Renton, WA); nieces: Ingalill Arnfridsson (Alf), Njurunda, Sweden, Birgit Sundstrรถm, Sundsvall, Sweden, and Laurie Fox, Spokane, WA; nephew: Kevin Hartnett; great-nieces and nephews: Lisbeth Wรฅhlstedt and family (Matfors, Sweden), Bรถrje Arnfridsson and family (Stockholm, Sweden), and Johan Arnfridsson and family (Stockholm, Sweden); sister-in-Law: Leeta Hartnett (Spokane, WA).

A Memorial Service will be held February 11th at 11 am at Messiah Lutheran Church, 4202 N. Belt St., Spokane.

Please join the family for a light lunch in the fellowship hall following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to your favorite charity or to Messiah Lutheran Church or Union Gospel Mission.
