Obituary: Hebb, Ronald T. “Rt”
Age 74
He was born to Reuben T. and Edith B. Hebb in Elkins, West Virginia on October 28th, 1938.
His family moved from West Virginia to NE Ohio in 1955 and he graduated from Windham High School in 1956.
A fierce love of air flight, established by his beloved uncle Gene who sat him in a model E17 airplane at the age of five, propelled Ron to enlist in the United States Air Force right out of high school.
He spent 25 years in the Air Force where he went through two tours of Vietnam surrounded by various base assignments in Japan, the Philippines, Greenland, and state side assignments in Florida, New York, and his final retirement base at Fairchild out of Spokane, Washington.
RT retired as a Senior Master Sergeant and he was very proud to serve his country.
During a five year tour in Japan he met the first love of his life, Kimmie Murakami of Kyoto, Japan, and they were married on December 1st, 1960 in Tokyo.
Kim developed cancer and after a courageous seven year battle she passed away in 1988.
He met the second love of his life Barbara Anderson in Spokane and they married in 1989.
RT retired from Accra-Fab in the Spokane Valley and Barbara retired from Central Pre-Mix/Inland Asphalt a few years later.
He loved to spend time up on the Yaak River in NW Montana with friends and family fishing, hunting and enjoying the beautiful river and mountains.
RT is survived by his wife Barbara, her son Brett Anderson (Erin), his daughter Michelle Duke (Dave), and his son Robert Hebb, all of Spokane.
He is also survived by his mother Edith Hebb, brother John Hebb (Paula), sister Colletta Stanley, and numerous nieces and nephews, all of Windham, Ohio.
He is also survived by grandchildren Matthew, Nicholas, and Maria.
He was preceded in death by his father Reuben, and his first wife Kim.
There will be a military memorial service in his honor on Friday, Feb. 15th, 2013 at 2:00 pm at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206.
A reception will follow afterwards.
