Obituary: Ojennus, Ray Louis

OJENNUS, Ray Louis Of Spokane, Washington, died February 4, 2013, aged 78, after a short struggle with cancer.

Ray was born in International Falls, Minnesota; he was the only son of Ray and Lucille Ojennus.

He served in the Coast Guard from 1955 to 1963 and attained the rank of Engineman 2nd Class.

In 1970 he married Erma Jean Rouke in Long Beach, Washington.

Ray returned to school and studied business and accounting.

After the birth of his sons Ray worked in heavy construction along the West Coast, and retired in Arizona in 1997.

He came to Spokane in 2005 to be closer to his grandchildren, where he became an active member at St. Matthew Lutheran Church.

Ray was preceded in death by his wife, Erma, in 2007, and is survived by his sons, Matthew and Paul; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Spokane, Washington, February 16, at 11:00 a.m.
