Lawmakers just don’t get it
Let me see if I have this right. Washington lawmakers approved a budget deal to lower state spending last year? Now, just to mention a few appalling examples: Rep. Gary Alexander billed the state for more than $500 in dry-cleaning costs; Sen. Rodney Tom for books from Amazon and a $164 headset; Sen. Ed Murray gets his home Internet paid for; and Rep. Jamie Pedersen gets artwork for his office so it looks more comfortable and inviting (plants do wonders for an office).
Of course, this goes on and on. What is it going to take to make the government in all capacities realize that this has to stop somewhere? I don’t have the answer, unfortunately, but maybe with enough letters this might help.
