Women are not soldiers

I could not agree more with Kathleen Parker (Jan. 27). If our leaders continue to erase the differences between men and women, male and female, i.e., gender, then our society as we know it will begin to decline.

When an American male can and must stand by and listen to the screams of a female, and know that she is in pain and trouble and needs help, and does nothing because of training or circumstances, I think none of us will want to live in that society.

Women are not soldiers. They are mothers, wives and companions to be respected, protected and loved.
