Injured Lady Gaga cancels four concerts

Wed., Feb. 13, 2013

Lady Gaga says she’s “heartsick” to postpone four shows after sustaining an injury that’s left her unable to walk. A Tuesday news release said performances set for today and Thursday in Chicago, Saturday in Detroit and Sunday in Hamilton, Ontario, have been postponed.

Gaga took to Twitter to explain, saying she injured herself during a performance some time ago and her condition has worsened, leaving her immobile following Monday’s concert in Montreal. “I’ve been hiding a show injury and chronic pain for sometime now, over the last month it has worsened,” she wrote.

Neither Lady Gaga nor the news release specified what the injury is. The remainder of the “Born This Way Ball” tour is expected to continue on schedule, beginning with a two-night stand in Philadelphia on Feb. 19-20.

Special delivery for Baldwins

Alec Baldwin and his wife are expecting their first child together. Publicist Matthew Hiltzik confirmed Tuesday that Hilaria Baldwin is due late this summer.

Alec Baldwin already is the father of a 17-year-old daughter, Ireland, from his previous marriage to actress Kim Basinger. Hilaria Baldwin is a special correspondent for the TV show “Extra.” The couple wed last June after a three-month engagement.

In other baby news, actress Penelope Cruz and actor Javier Bardem are expecting their second child. The 38-year-old Cruz and 43-year-old Bardem had their first child, a boy called Leo, in January 2011.

Mag to print photos of pregnant Kate

An Italian magazine that published topless photos of Prince William’s wife last year is reportedly printing new pictures of the pregnant duchess on a beach holiday in the Caribbean, provoking condemnation from royal officials.

St. James’s Palace expressed disappointment Tuesday that the pictures may be published, saying it would amount to a “clear breach of the couple’s right to privacy.” It did not say whether officials would be prepared to take legal action against the gossip magazine.

The magazine, Chi, is said to be planning to publish the pictures today. The photos reportedly show the Duchess of Cambridge – the former Kate Middleton – wearing a bikini and strolling on a beach with William on the island of Mustique.
