2,600 on South Hill without power

About 2,600 on Spokane’s South Hill are without power after an equipment failure at a West Plains substation. Avista spokeswoman Laurine Jue said crews are working to reroute the power and are aiming to restore it by this afternoon. The outage was first reported at 9:48 a.m. and affects a grid roughly from 11th Avenue south to 29th Avenue and from South Cedar Street east to South Hatch Street.
