Obituary: Smith, Kevin Wayne
Age 53
Kevin attended Oroville High School and graduated in 1978.
Kevin met his wife of 30 years Renee Smith on a blind date in 1981.
On August 14th, 1982 the two were married.
On July 24th, 1983 Kevin and Renee gave birth to their first son Ryan Smith.
They gave birth to their second son, Shane Smith, on March 19th, 1985.
A talented artist, there was no art project Kevin wouldn’t tackle.
Whether it was sketching, painting or carving, Kevin did it.
Kevin produced many beautiful works of art for many people throughout his life.
After many years of trying and never giving up, Kevin became a graphic artist by trade.
Kevin worked as a T-shirt designer for Saturday Night Inc. in Spokane Valley, WA.
Kevin also converted pictures into beautiful line art for memorials at Fairmount Memorial Park in Spokane.
Kevin had a taste for adventure.
Trips to the beach, hiking through the mountains, or whitewater rafting, Kevin wanted to try it all.
For his 50th birthday gift from Renee, Kevin realized his lifelong dream of skydiving.
The experience was always one of his favorites.
Despite his taste for adventure, Kevin also enjoyed the simple life.
Staying in and watching movies with his wife, helping her out with landscaping projects, spending time with his two boys and his parents.
His boys fondly remember his signature grilled cheese sandwiches and spaghetti.
He was also an occasional golfer and tennis player.
Kevin loved unconditionally and was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone who asked.
Kevin touched many lives and will be missed dearly by all of them.
Kevin was tragically taken from this world on February 10th, 2013.
Kevin was preceded in death by his mother Marilyn Davis Smith.
He is survived by his father Dick Smith, stepmother Judy Smith, sister Kerri Smith-Majors (Scott), stepbrother Corey Lanterman (LeeAnn), wife Renee Smith, and sons Ryan and Shane Smith.
A Celebration of Life for Kevin Wayne Smith will be held at New Life Church, 10290 E. Sprague on Friday, February 15th from 2pm to 4pm.
The family requests that guests wear bright colors to celebrate the life of this extraordinary man.
