Washington State Cougars

COMING UP: Saturday vs. Oregon (Pac-12 Networks), 4 p.m.

OUTLOOK: The Cougars’ chances against the Ducks will be limited by the potential absence of point guard Mike Ladd, who sat out Wednesday’s game with a left knee injury. A tendon in the knee is apparently rubbing against some old screws that were installed when Ladd was in high school, and the irritation is limiting Ladd’s mobility. Coach Ken Bone isn’t sure if Ladd will play Saturday. WSU gave Oregon a game the first time around, leading by 10 points at halftime before losing 68-61 in one of the Cougars’ many second-half letdowns. Without Ladd, combating Oregon’s quick, pesky backcourt will be a difficult task.
