Cheered for Sweeney

I liked John Blanchette’s comments on Jim Sweeney (Feb. 10, “Sweeney kept perspective and humor”).

I attended Flathead County High School in Kalispell and Coach Sweeney was our coach from 1959-1963 and we were champions all four years. Then I attended MSU in Bozeman, where again, Coach Sweeney was a success, especially when he recruited Jan Stenerud as our “soccer-style” kicker, who also went on to be successful. 

I will always have fond memories cheerleading for Jim Sweeney, an excellent coach and wonderful person.
