Obituary: Girnus, Marcia

GIRNUS, Marcia Born September 9, 1937 Died February 6, 2013 Marcia was born in Chewelah, Washington to Bill and Hallie Girnus.

She lived for a short time in Grand Coulee before moving to Spokane as a young child.

Marcia lived in Spokane and Modesto, CA, and Spokane again before making her home in Fairfield, WA.

Marcia attended Central Valley High School and Spokane Falls Community College.

Marcia was a prolific, sensitive and talented artist and potter.

She taught pottery at the Corbin Art Center for many years.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Hallie Girnus.

She is survived by her five children: Diana (John) Ruby, Reno, NV; Chris (Sue) Bell, Otis Orchards, WA; Lauri McNeese-Burns (Dave Burns), Hayden Lake, ID; Aaron Overstreet (Danielle Kitt), Portland, OR; and Heather Parks (Walter), Moses Lake, WA.

In addition, she leaves four grandsons and four great-grandchildren.

Marcia’s creative spirit and sense of humor will be missed by many.
