Obituary: Townsend, Loretta “Jane”

Age 80

TOWNSEND, Loretta “Jane” (Age 80) Passed away February 7, 2013.

She was born September 2, 1932 in Detroit, Michigan.

She spent her childhood in Vandergrift, PA and graduated from high school in Apollo, PA. She had a degree in accounting from Spokane Community College and an associate degree in general business.

She served in the Army (WAC) as a private for 6 months.

A lifetime resident of Spokane she worked as a bookkeeper and front desk clerk at many area hotels and at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home in the pre-need department.

Jane danced ballet and tap as a young girl, loved animals, the ocean and celtic music.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary Aerie #2 since 1990.

She is survived by a daughter Rebecca (Mike) Davis of Spokane Valley; son Richard G. (Tari) Townsend of Post Falls, ID; three grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her father Lester George Ross of Iowa City, IA and her mother Grace Virginia (Waddell) Ross of Scottsdale, PA. Memorial Service 11AM Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Heritage Chapel.
