Mueller named Idaho’s best

Soccer: Post Falls junior Timmy Mueller has been named the 2012-13 Gatorade Idaho Boys Soccer Player of the Year.

He’s the first player chosen from Post Falls.

The 6-foot-3 Mueller (pictured) led the Trojans to the State 5A title and a 17-1-1 record last fall. He scored 30 goals and had seven assists including two goals each in the semifinal and title matches.

Mueller was the Idaho Soccer Coaches Association Player of the Year in 2012. He has 74 goals and 19 assists as a three-year starter.

“Timmy Mueller was phenomenal, that is the only way I can describe him,” Lewiston coach David Kronemann said. “Not only was his athletic ability leaps and bounds ahead of my team, he was a student of the game. He knew where to be on the field to give himself and his team the best chance possible to score, move the ball and even defend.”

Mueller carries a 3.94 grade-point average.
