Houston House apartment fire ruled arson

Tuesday’s fire at an apartment at 603 E. Houston Ave. was intentionally set, the Spokane Fire Department said today. Assistant Chief Brian Schaeffer said the department is looking for information from the public to make an arrest for arson. The fire erupted inside the Houston House apartment complex about 9:15 a.m. Tuesday. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, which caused about $25,000 in damage. The tenants were not able to stay in the apartment. No one was injured. The arson tip line is (509) 344-FIRE (3473).
