East Valley maintenance, custodial workers shine

After reading the article about the East Valley School District in the Feb. 14 Valley Voice, I felt that I needed to write a positive response. 

Although our schools are in need of repair, I have to say our custodial and maintenance personnel do a fantastic job keeping them in working order. The custodians work very hard cleaning (come by after lunch and then come back in the morning to see how sparkling it is), shampooing, polishing, etc., during their eight-hour shifts, especially since there has been space and bodies added to each elementary school.  

The maintenance people go wherever they are needed for repairs, working on boilers, working on the school grounds (mowing, etc.), fixing broken doors and windows, and the list goes on. 

Both groups take pride in the work they do and deserve many kudos for it.  In fact, in my opinion, we all take pride in the work we do getting the children to and from school safely, nourishing and nurturing them, keeping them secure and safe at school, and, most importantly of all, educating the leaders of tomorrow.

Here’s to the certified and classified staff of East Valley School District!
