Late winter storm rolling in

From Staff Reports

A late winter storm today and tonight is likely to bring a mix of rain and snow to lower-elevation areas, including Spokane, but the mountains of the region could see heavy snowfall, forecasters said.

The chance of snow in Spokane and Coeur d’Alene will be greatest early today and later tonight. Less than a half-inch is expected in Spokane, Post Falls and Coeur d’Alene.

The high today should reach the lower 40s.

A winter storm warning was issued for the mountains of North Idaho and the Blue Mountains of southeast Washington. Accumulations ranging from 6 to 14 inches are possible.

Winds could pick up tonight, with gusts around 25 mph. The low should be near 29 degrees.
