Colorado defeats WSU women
Arielle Roberson had 17 points and 13 rebounds and Colorado beat a poor-shooting Washington State women’s basketball team 59-45 in Pac-12 Conference action on Friday night in Boulder, Colo.
Chucky Jeffery and Jen Reese added 10 points apiece for the Buffaloes (21-5, 10-5), who took advantage of 25 Cougars turnovers. Washington State made 4 of 24 second-half field goals and shot 19.6 percent for the game.
Lia Galdeira tallied a team-high 12 points for WSU, but she made just two of her 13 shot attempts. Mariah Cooks added 10 points for the Cougars, who fell to 10-16 overall and 6-9 in conference games.
Utah 60, Washington 46: Michelle Plouffe and Iwalani Rodrigues scored 17 points apiece to lead the Utes past the Huskies in a Pac-12 Conference game in Salt Lake City.
Rachel Messer had 11 points and Taryn Wicijowski grabbed 11 rebounds for Utah (15-11, 6-9), which trailed only once in the game, at 19-17 just past the midway point of the first half. Jazmine Davis scored a game-high 22 points and Aminah Williams had 14 rebounds for Washington (19-7, 11-4), tied for third in the Pac-12.
