The Sprocks: Kylynn, 5

Her vocabulary is narrow. The few phrases Kylynn speaks come from “SpongeBob SquarePants,” the cartoon she adores. “Bubble buddy!” she’ll say. “I’m ready.”

Kylynn was diagnosed with autism shortly before her third birthday. She also has a language disorder that makes it difficult to understand others and express herself.

If she wants something, she takes her mom’s hand and leads her to it, flashing her blue eyes. “It’s always hard to say no because she just knows how to flirt,” Stacey Sprock said.

Kylynn attends Syringa Family Partnership a few hours each weekday for intensive behavior intervention and developmental therapy. She goes to Harding Preschool three days a week.

“I don’t know if it’s because she’s a girl, or after having three boys, but I think she’s charming,” Sprock said.
