Obituary: Dauenhauer, Michael P.

DAUENHAUER Michael P. (Age 97) Was born in Glen Ullin, North Dakota on April 14, 1915 to John and Florentina (Judt) Dauenhauer.

He joined the Civil Conservation Corps in the early 1930’s which took him on a journey across the US.

He ended up farming in Thornton, Washington until 1958 when he moved to the Spokane Valley where he lived out the remainder of his life.

He married Cora Waddell, a childhood friend, in 1937 while stationed in Burns, Oregon.

Cora, the mother of his six children preceded him in death in 1971.

He later married Eleanor Hasse and Margaret Metzger.

Michael worked for the Schneidmiller Land Co. from 1958 until his retirement in 1978.

Surviving children are Darlene (Robert) Dale, Michael G Dauenhauer, Diane Lewis, Carolyn Riggs and Alan (Kathleen) Dauenhauer.

Also surviving is a sister Violetta Ward, a brother Nicholas (Martha) Dauenhauer, ten grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, numerous nieces and nephews, and sisters in-law Thelma and Loralie Dauenhauer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his three wives, and infant son, Bruce, seven brothers, Marcus, Frank, Phillip, Peter, George, Anton, and Ervin.

Four sisters also preceded him in death, Veronica Johnston, Magdalena Lantz, Margaret Johnston, and Elizabeth Dauenhauer.

A Memorial service will be held Tuesday Feb. 26, 2013 at 11:00am at The Pines Mausoleum 1402 S. Pines Rd.
