Gang shooting suspect identified

Investigators have identified 26-year-old Terrance R. Jones as a suspect in a possibly gang-related shooting in Spokane Valley last week.

Police are searching for Jones on felony charges of first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm, according to a release from the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office.

Jones is described as 5-foot-7, 145 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He may still be armed, the release said.

The shooting occurred Thursday after an incident that started in the area of Broadway and Sullivan roads, the sheriff’s office said. Two vehicles were traveling in the area of Evergreen and Indiana until one vehicle stopped, and shots were fired from the other vehicle before it left the scene.

One man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The Spokane Violent Crime Gang Enforcement Team detectives were called to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
