Wall damaged in mysterious shooting in North Spokane

A woman was sitting in her living room Saturday night when she heard glass breaking in her bedroom.

Sandy Smith said she saw a bullet hole and a broken picture on her bedroom wall on the 1500 block of East Vanetta Lane.

“It left a pretty good hole in the wall,” Smith said.

Police came to investigate and searched for the bullet and bullet casing but found nothing.

The incident was strange, Smith said, since the bullet must have come from her backyard and she didn’t hear anything before or after the shot. None of the neighbors officers spoke with heard anything either, said Spokane Police Department Communications Director Monique Cotton.

Smith hopes someone knows something, since she will have to pay for the damage to her wall.

Police ask that anyone with information call Crime Check at (509) 456-2233.
