Obituary: Barnes, Sherman Lloyd

BARNES, Sherman Lloyd (Age 82) Of Colbert, WA passed away on Sunday, February 24, from complications due to pulmonary fibrosis.

A Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 2 at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Pastor, Mike Riddle, of Life Center Foursquare Church will be officiating.

Sherman was born in Bassano, Canada on February 1, 1931.

He graduated from North Central High School in Spokane, WA and continued on to receive a degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Washington.

Sherman was married to Helen Olmsted on December 30, 1956; they were married 56 years.

Sherman worked as a Civil Engineer for CH2M Hill and Taylor Engineering.

He was a master craftsman, avid gardener, and enjoyed family get togethers, fishing, bird hunting, his son’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, his grandchildren, playing racquetball with his best friend, and traveling and spending time with his wife and friends.

Sherman is survived by spouse, Helen Barnes, twin daughters Erin Barnes, Eve (and Mike) Graham, grandchildren Sarah (and Brandon) Russell, great-grandchild Vailen Russell, granddaughter Emily Graham, daughter Jill (and Marty) Pace, son Scott (and Jody) Barnes, grandchildren Milanna and Isaac Barnes, and sisters, Jean Shepp and Joan Earl.

Donations may be given to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 E. Ohio Suite 304, Chicago, Illinois 60611.
